Stratford TripsAnnual Stratford trips take place in autumn and are designed to help achieve one of the main objectives of the TOPS program, exposing TOPS students to different facets of society, including the arts, helping to create well-rounded students. The trip to Stratford gives students the opportunity to spend two days and a night in the town of Stratford. Stratford trips have become a tradition for many students at Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute.
Last year's annual TOPS Stratford trip took place in early October. Around 160 students attended, and stayed overnight at the Festival Inn. The Grade 9s watched Love's Labour's Lost and The Musicman with the Grade 10s, while the Grade 11s and 12s watched Caesar and Cleopatra, and Cabaret. On the second day, all of the grades met up at Festival theatre and watched The Taming of the Shrew. TOPS students also attend opera and symphony performances in each of their four years with us.
